ABOUT
Tim, Kevin, Mark, and Rachel are excited to be working on their Senior Project Design: The Epileptic Monitoring Device.
Our device aims to address problems with recording EEG waves on a patient through portability, comfort, and function outside of a hospital setting. The epileptic monitoring device will monitor and store a patient's EEG waves throughout the day, and will set off an alarm upon detection of seizure like activity.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by sudden, recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness, or convulsions, associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
Epilepsy affects nearly 3 million Americans, and costs 17.6 billion dollars annually.
